Perk up your cat with silvervine powder

IS your cat lethargic? A light drizzling of silvervine powder here and there can make a cat sprightly in no time!

Like catnip, silvervine powder (a.k.a. cat powder) has this euphoric effect on cats. Any object or place with silverine powder becomes a cat's object of affection. A whiff of it is enough for a cat to rock and roll where the smell is strong. They will also lick, rub, drool and completely chill out on the spot.

SILVERVINE POWDER FOR CATS ARE AVAILABLE IN BOX OF EIGHT SACHETS IN LEADING JAPAN THRIFT STORES.
The silvervine powder's magic spell on cats lasts for 10 to 30 minutes, depending on how much or how strong the smell hits them. It instantly captivate cats, bewitched by the unexplainable tea-like scent of the silvervine. After an episode of rubbing, twirling, and sniffing, each cat tends to walk away with a rather silly grin.

The silvervine plant, Actinidia polygama, thrives in the mountainous areas in China and Japan. It has white leaves with silver tips. The silvervine's leaves, flowers, seeds, vines and fruits are used in traditional medicine and even in cooking. Any of these parts can attract cats, but the powder form is the most popular commercial version of silvervine.

THE TEA-LIKE FRAGRANCE OF SILVERVINE POWDER, SUPPOSEDLY STRONGER THAN CATNIP, ATTRACTS AND STIMULATES CATS.
A box of 8 small sachets can be bought in Daiso stores. They look like very fine powdered pepper, so keep them inside the box and away from the kitchen to avoid confusion.

Silvervine is safe and can be sprinkled outside or tucked inside toys, scratch pad and beddings. It encourages cats to play and relax. Just a dash of it is enough to make adult cats behave like kittens again or fall into an adorable dreamy state for awhile.

Cats seem to know not to eat silvervine, they just want to smell it so don't add it on their food or treats.

The silvervine appears to have a stronger effect on cats than catnip. If you want to give your cat a little stimulant, the silvervine powder is completely legal and safe but parental guidance is still advised.  -- MetroPets
