The leading word authority recently added 300 words and terms that have lately become part of the youth's vocabulary. The millennials and others older or younger than them are no stranger to the term cat lady, thanks to the abundance of cat images on the Net.
Cat lady is defined by Oxford as a noun that pertains to an older woman who lives alone with a large number of cats, to which she is thought to be obsessively devoted.
For some, the term cat lady still has a bit of uncomplimentary sound to it, but there's been an improvement in perceptions as more people, including males, proudly proclaim their love for cats.
Also included in the Oxford word collection update are new words like funtastic and squadgoals with meanings that all cat ladies can surely relate to.
