Papa Chong welcomes Summer 2017 with a nice summery bandana from SKARF PH. He likes summer because it means more birds, butterflies and dragonflies in the garden although what he really loves about summer is the heat lulling him to sleep.
PAPA CHONG loves catnip. One whiff of it makes him act like a kitten once again. He would dart here and there like he's running after a thousand mice. With his mind and body over stimulated, he would soon retire to a corner and dream of the hunt he never really had.
THAT weird, scary feeling that someone is eerily watching you...Do you turn around to confirm or do you fight the urge to look and just run?
NO mice, no lies, said Papa Chong as he patrols his area of jurisdiction which includes the pantry, the kitchen, the area around the refrigerator, the cupboard and the bar.
He loves his uniform and wears it proud. It's a bit tight though around the mid-section, but whose fault is that?
Unlike most cops, Papa Chong doesn't care for donuts and coffee, but is always ready to attack a bowl of his favorite treats. Don't get in his way or he might arrest you!
Papa Chong tries to look stern and serious everytime he is on duty. But underneath that bespoked shirt that solidifies his "cat-thority", Papa Chong remains the sweet ball of fur that he is who prefers less dangerous assignments related to food inventory and food sampling.
PILATES is not for everybody, but for cats it should be easy. In fact, it should be second nature to cats given that they have flexible bodies.
Here, Chong demonstrates his super effortless two-step Pilates that follows the art of controlled movements to improve one's flexibility and overall well-being.
It begins with his signature starting position (1a).
He then gradually adds intensity to the workout by lying on his back to perform full-body stretches to improve balance and coordination (2a, 2b, 2c). This stage is really hard, but don't be discouraged and supervise your cat if you have to.
Chong recommends staying in the No. 2 positions for at least half an hour or more.
When your cat feels it has reached its goal of being perfectly aligned to Pilates' principle, Chong recommends rolling back to the starting position (1b). For optimum results, a Pilates exercise should be followed by a long, undisturbed sleep.
Chong's simplified Pilates workout is so easy any cat can do it with eyes closed.
An artist's rendition of Papa Chong. It's actually from a cover of a journal found in a local bookstore. It was the spitting image of Papa Chong; we had to buy it. The drawing has a bee buzzing over him, but it was a bird that caught Papa Chong's attention that afternoon when this photo was taken.
