Shelly, a sweet white puspin (Pusang Pinoy) named after the Shell gas station where she was found, was adopted last July 4 by Bea Cruz and her family. The turnover ceremony was held at Cat Cafe Manila and witnessed by representatives from CARA Welfare Philippines (Compassion and Responsibility for Animals) and, of course, Shelly's cat friends at the cafe.
One such person is Bea who comes from a family of cat lovers who go out of their way to take care of feral cats that visit their house. Bea's visit to Cat Cafe Manila turned out to be serendipitous because she met Shelly and instantly fell in love with her.
Denis shared that Bea wanted to get a playmate for her Siamese cat named Toffee. It was love at first sight when Bea saw Shelly at the cafe looking every bit like her beloved cat that died last year.
Denis is optimistic more people will share in their catvocacy given the number of applications they've received from people who want to adopt their cats. The adoption process goes to CARA for review.
