A BALL is a dog's best friend and the development of a robotic sphere that can be controlled by a smartphone gives dogs a new reason to love balls.
The Sphero 2.0 is like a remote-controlled car, only it's a sphere, with a powerful motor that lets it spin and roll around up to about 5 miles per hour. The main driving app, also called Sphero, can be downloaded onto an iPhone or Android smartphone so dog owners can control the ball and let their dogs have fun with it.
Sphero 2.0 only comes in white, but is has a bright color-changing LED inside. It is designed for kids and geeky adults but it's a no-brainer that it can be used as an incredible dog toy as well.
“Even the large breed Alaskan Malamutes can bit it and it won't break,” said Justin Uy, the person who is bringing Sphero in the local market.
At Pet Expo early this month, Uy demonstrated the Sphero to the public and told them that it would be available by December at Pet Express and Toy Kingdom stores. One can pre-order a Sphero now, but local pricing is yet to be announced.
The Sphero has a base induction charger, so it charges wirelessly for two hours for about an hour use.
If you want to make playtime with your dog even more fun, colorful and digital, Sphero is the newest dog toy that will simply let the good times roll.
