The CIA spent half a decade and $20 million training cats to spy in the late 1960's based on information from curio.com. The operation involved surgically implanting a battery/transmitter (base of the skull) and microphone (ear canal) into a real cat’s body, and wove an antenna through its tail fur. The cats were trained to walk amongst strangers and listen in to conversations.
“The CIA quickly cleaned up the accident site to prevent the Soviets from stealing their brilliant plan. Needless to say, the entire operation was soon abandoned,” the report said.
