The security department of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has decided one of the homeless cats that hang around the building deserves an employee ID for helping the bank rodent-free.
MetroPets asked a business journalist who regularly stays at DBP's press office to confirm Muning's existence and this is what she had to say:
“I do know that the DBP security guards feed some stray cats who have made the vicinity of the bank their home, but of course, issuing the cat an ID is a joke and the current management of DBP takes forever to issue IDs because they're strict with it. I'd guess someone simply "manufactured" an ID for the cat for fun,” Emmie Abadilla from Manila Bulletin said.
But for all intents and purposes, Muning's ID did the job as far as making him look taller and important in the eyes of men. The cat is allowed to go inside the bank with security personnel during routine security checks.
Authorized by management or not, Muning and his well-deserved ID make the bank look like a friendlier place, unless you are a mouse.
